Beth Monique Perry
Program Coordinator
Beth joined the FHI as Program Coordinator in fall of 2011. At the FHI, she coordinates short-term residencies of visiting scholars, Faculty Book Manuscript Workshops, the Annual Lecture, as well as other conferences and events. She also provides communications support for the FHI, including announcements and the weekly newsletter. Beth has a B.A. in English from New York University, and a M.A. in English from Rutgers, where she taught expository writing courses as well as an African American literature course. Prior to coming to the FHI, she worked as a freelance writer and editor. Outside the FHI, Beth is an avid cook and baker, and loves to take advantage of the great food Durham has to offer. She also enjoys practicing yoga, and teaches a Sunday afternoon class as well. She lives in downtown Durham with her husband and their terrier mix.
