The Erasmus Prize-winning historian of science Steven Shapin (Harvard University) will speak on "The Ivory Tower: The History of a Figure of Speech and Its Cultural Uses." Professor Shapin's visit is co-sponsored by the FHI with the Institute for the Arts and Humanities at UNC Chapel Hill.
