What exactly is a "Humanities Lab"? What does it mean to have a Lab that focuses on a country (Haiti), a concept (BorderWork(s))... and games (GreaterThanGames)??

Here at the FHI Labs we apply the traditional strengths of the humanities - critical analysis, historical research, attention to language and culture, commitment to asking tough philosophical questions - to a broad range of contemporary issues, both practical and theoretical. Students and faculty in the Humanities Labs have worked together on an art installation commemorating the 2011 Haitian earthquakean alternate reality game on the financial crisis, and upcoming Perkins Library and Nasher Museum exhibits on the power of maps to shape politics and human experience. Join us for refreshments at this "research fair" to see and hear presentations of lab projects in progress! There will also be time to meet the faculty directors from each of the labs and talk with students about their experience in the labs. Find out how you can get involved!
