On Thursday, November 13, 4:15pm (FC 240), the Department of Religion will present Future Perfect, Past Conditional: the Work of Memory and Mourning by David Kyuman Kim. Author of Melancholic Freedom: Agency and the Spirit of Politics, Kim is Associate Professor of Religious Studies & Inaugural Director of the Center for the Comparative Study of Race and Ethnicity at Connecticut College. Achille Mbembe, Visiting Professor of English & Senior Researcher at the Wits Institute for Social & Economic Research, will respond. Co-sponsored by the Department of English & Franklin Humanities Institute.
