This week @ WATC: Cathy Davidson on Digital Youth & Digital Labor

At noon on Wednesday, October 1, HASTAC (Humanities, Arts, Science, Technology Advanced Collaboratory) will present Digital Youth & the Paradox of Digital Labor: Do-It-Yourself or Do-It-For-Them, a talk by Cathy Davidson. Prof. Davidson is Ruth F. DeVarney Professor of English and John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute Professor of Interdisciplinary Studies at Duke, and Co-Founder of HASTAC. The talk will be preceded by a brief introduction of the HASTAC/MacArthur Digital Media Learning Competition. For more information on Prof. Davidson, click here.
Wednesdays at the Center (WATC) is a topical weekly noontime series in which distinguished scholars, artists, journalists, and others speak informally about their work in conversation with those who attend. Presented by Duke University’s John Hope Franklin Center and the John Hope Franklin Humanities Institute, all events in the series are free and open to the public. A light lunch is served. No reservations are necessary, and vouchers to cover parking costs in the Duke Medical Center parking decks are provided.
