Theater Historian Erika Fischer-Lichte Begins Distinguished Residency at the FHI

The FHI is pleased to welcome Erika Fischer-Lichte, Professor of Theatre Studies at the Free University of Berlin, as our first Distinguished Scholar in Residence of the 2008-09 academic year. One of the foremost historians and theorists of theatre in Europe, Prof. Fischer-Lichte will be in residence at the FHI from Monday, September 8 through Friday, September 20. During her visit, Prof. Fischer-Lichte will deliver two public lectures, offer a faculty/graduate seminar, visit graduate and undergraduate classes, and maintain office hours.

On Tuesday, September 9, 4:30pm (Room 240, Franklin Center), Prof. Fischer-Lichte will deliver a lecture on "Culture as Performance: Developing a Concept of Performance."
